Korean Banana Milk is a creamy, sweet beverage made from ripe bananas blended with milk, sugar, and condensed milk. This refreshing and smooth drink, optionally flavored with vanilla, is perfect for a nutritious snack or dessert. You can enjoy it chilled or add cubed bananas for textured bites, making it a beloved drink inspired by popular Korean flavors.

Ingredients

Scale

Banana Milk Base

  • 3 medium overripe bananas (about 7” long), sliced
  • 2/3 cup milk (dairy or plant-based such as oat or almond)
  • 12 tablespoons sugar (1 T. for less sweet, 2 T. for sweeter)
  • 1/41/3 cup condensed milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)

Additional Ingredients

  • 3 cups milk (dairy or plant-based of your choice)
  • 12 medium overripe bananas (optional, finely cubed for texture)

Instructions

  1. Slice Bananas: Start by slicing 3 medium overripe bananas and place them into a large bowl or measuring cup. If you prefer added texture or have extra bananas, finely cube 1-2 more bananas to add later.
  2. Prepare Banana Milk Base: To the sliced bananas, add 2/3 cup of milk, 1 to 2 tablespoons of sugar depending on your sweetness preference, and 1/4 to 1/3 cup condensed milk. Optionally, add 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract for added flavor. Blend the mixture using an immersion blender until smooth and lump-free. Adjust sweetness by varying sugar and condensed milk amounts as desired.
  3. Combine with Milk: Pour the smooth banana milk base into a large drink container. Add 3 cups of your chosen milk to the base and stir gently to combine everything evenly.
  4. Add Textured Bananas (Optional): If using cubed bananas for extra texture, fold them into the milk mixture now, distributing them evenly throughout the drink.
  5. Chill and Serve: Refrigerate the banana milk for a few hours to allow flavors to meld and serve chilled. The drink is best enjoyed cold and fresh.

Notes

  • You can substitute dairy milk with oat, almond, or any milk of your preference to suit dietary needs.
  • Adjust the sweetness by modifying the sugar and condensed milk quantities based on the ripeness of your bananas and personal taste.
  • Adding finely cubed bananas provides pleasant texture; however, the drink is delicious without them as well.
  • Immersion blender is recommended for smooth consistency, but a regular blender works as a good alternative.
  • Best served chilled, so plan ahead to refrigerate for a few hours before drinking.
