Brownie Base
- 1 package brownie mix (18.3 oz)
- Ingredients required by the brownie mix (typically eggs, oil, and water)
Pudding Layer
- 1 package instant chocolate pudding mix (3.9 oz)
- 1/2 cup water
Additional Layers
- 1 can sweetened condensed milk (14 oz)
- 1 container frozen whipped topping, thawed (8 oz)
- 1 container frozen whipped topping, thawed (12 oz)
- 1 bar Hershey’s chocolate candy (1.55 oz), chopped into chunks
- Prepare Brownies: Follow the instructions on the brownie mix package to prepare the batter using the specified ingredients. Bake the brownies as directed and allow them to cool completely before assembling the trifle.
- Make Pudding: In a medium bowl, whisk together the instant chocolate pudding mix and 1/2 cup water until thickened, then set aside.
- Layer Ingredients: In a large trifle bowl or glass dish, cut the cooled brownies into cubes and layer half of them at the bottom.
- Add Pudding and Condensed Milk: Pour half of the instant pudding over the brownie layer, then drizzle half of the sweetened condensed milk evenly over the pudding.
- Add Whipped Topping: Spread half of the 8 oz container of thawed whipped topping evenly over the condensed milk layer.
- Repeat Layers: Repeat layering with the remaining brownie cubes, pudding, condensed milk, and then top with the remaining whipped topping from both containers (8 oz and 12 oz combined).
- Garnish: Sprinkle chopped Hershey’s chocolate candy chunks evenly over the top of the trifle.
- Chill: Refrigerate the trifle for at least 2 hours to let all the layers set and flavors meld before serving.
Notes
- Make sure the brownies are completely cooled before assembling to prevent melting the whipped topping.
- You can substitute Hershey’s chocolate bars with any chocolate candy or chocolate chips of your choice.
- This dessert is best served chilled and tastes even better the next day.
- Use a clear glass trifle bowl or individual glass cups for an attractive presentation showing all the layers.
- If preferred, fresh fruit such as raspberries or strawberries can be added for a fresh contrast.
