Banana Oatmeal Bars Ingredients
- 1½ cups mashed bananas (approx. 3 bananas)
- ½ cup nut butter
- 2 cups rolled oats
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 3 tablespoons maple syrup
- 1 cup chocolate chips
- ½ teaspoon salt
- Preheat Oven: Heat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 9×9 inch baking pan with parchment paper to prevent sticking and make removal easy.
- Mix Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the mashed bananas, nut butter, rolled oats, cinnamon, vanilla extract, maple syrup, chocolate chips, and salt. Stir thoroughly until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.
- Transfer and Flatten: Pour the mixture into the prepared baking pan and spread it out evenly. You can sprinkle additional chocolate chips on top for extra chocolate flavor if desired.
- Bake the Bars: Place the pan in the oven and bake for 18 to 20 minutes. Bake until the edges turn golden brown and the bars look set and firm.
- Cool and Cut: Allow the bars to cool completely in the pan. Once cooled, remove from the pan by lifting the parchment paper and cut them into individual bars for serving.
Notes
- For nut butter options, almond, peanut, or cashew butter all work well.
- Make sure bananas are very ripe for natural sweetness and moisture.
- You can store bars in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or refrigerate for up to a week.
- For a nut-free version, use sunflower seed butter or omit nut butter and add extra bananas.
- Feel free to add nuts, seeds, or dried fruits for variation.
