Tea Base
- 6 cups water
- 4 green tea bags (Stash brand recommended)
Fruit and Sweetener
- 1 cup blueberries, fresh or frozen
- 1/4 cup clover honey (adjust to taste)
- 3 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
Garnish
- Ice cubes
- Lemon slices
- Fresh mint leaves
- Heat Water: Bring the water almost to a boil in a large pot, then turn off the heat to prepare for steeping.
- Steep Tea: Add the green tea bags to the hot water and cover with a lid, allowing the tea to steep for 3 minutes for optimal flavor extraction.
- Remove Tea Bags: Take out the tea bags from the pot to prevent over-brewing and bitterness.
- Blend Blueberries: Pour the brewed tea into a blender, add the blueberries, and blend for a few seconds to combine the flavors and release the antioxidants from the berries.
- Strain Tea: Pour the blended mixture through a fine strainer into a large pitcher, using a silicone spatula to press the berry mash against the strainer to extract maximum juice.
- Add Honey: Stir in the clover honey until fully dissolved, sweetening the tea naturally.
- Add Lemon Juice: Mix in fresh lemon juice to add brightness and acidity to the tea.
- Chill: Refrigerate the tea for at least 1 hour to serve cold and refreshing.
- Serve: Pour the chilled tea over ice cubes when ready to serve.
- Garnish: Add lemon slices and fresh mint leaves for a beautiful presentation and added aroma.
Notes
- Adjust honey quantity based on preferred sweetness.
- Fresh or frozen blueberries both work well for this recipe.
- Steeping time should be precise to avoid bitterness from the green tea.
- For more intense blueberry flavor, slightly increase blending time but avoid over-blending to prevent bitterness.
- This tea is best served chilled for a refreshing experience.
