Apple Pie Bombs
- 2 cans Pillsbury Country biscuits (10 pieces per can) or 1 can of Grands biscuits
- 1 cup roughly chopped apple pie filling
Topping
- ½ cup melted butter
- ¾ cup granulated sugar
- 2 teaspoons cinnamon
- Prepare the Filling and Dough: Open the biscuit cans and separate the biscuits. Flatten each biscuit into a larger circle to make it easier to wrap around the filling.
- Fill the Biscuits: Place about 1 tablespoon of roughly chopped apple pie filling in the center of each flattened biscuit. Be careful not to overfill.
- Seal the Bombs: Fold the biscuit dough around the filling, pinching the edges together to seal completely so the filling doesn’t leak out during cooking.
- Prepare Cinnamon Sugar Coating: In a small bowl, mix the granulated sugar and cinnamon together.
- Brush with Butter: Brush each sealed biscuit ball generously with melted butter to ensure the cinnamon sugar sticks and to create a crispy crust.
- Coat with Cinnamon Sugar: Roll or sprinkle each buttered biscuit ball thoroughly with the cinnamon sugar mixture, covering all sides.
- Preheat the Air Fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (175°C) for about 3 to 5 minutes.
- Cook the Bombs: Place the apple pie bombs in the air fryer basket in a single layer, ensuring they are not touching to allow even cooking. Air fry at 350°F (175°C) for 8 to 10 minutes or until the biscuits are golden brown and cooked through.
- Cool and Serve: Remove the bombs carefully from the air fryer and let them cool for a few minutes before serving as the filling will be very hot inside.
Notes
- Use fresh or canned apple pie filling for convenience.
- Make sure to seal the biscuit dough edges completely to prevent fillings from leaking during air frying.
- Adjust air fryer cooking time depending on the model and size of biscuits.
- Serve with vanilla ice cream or caramel sauce for an extra indulgent treat.
